Terms & Conditions
The plain-English rules for using our website and working with us.
Last updated: October 6, 2026
1. Who we are
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to the website at https://coatformpainting.ca (the "Site") and to painting and related services provided by Coatform Painting ("Coatform", "we", "us", "our") in Ontario, Canada. By using the Site or booking our services you agree to these Terms.
2. Online estimates are not quotes
Our Site includes a free estimator that may use artificial intelligence ("AI") together with our standard pricing to generate a price range. Any online or AI-generated estimate is a ROUGH ESTIMATE for budgeting purposes only. It is not a quote, offer, contract or guarantee of price. It is based only on the information you enter and cannot account for things like surface condition, repairs, access, colour coverage or hidden damage.
A final, binding price is only provided in a written quote from Coatform after an in-person or video assessment. To get an accurate price, call 416-786-1621.
3. Written quotes
- Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless stated otherwise.
- The quote describes the scope of work (surfaces, rooms, number of coats, products). Anything not listed is not included.
- If the work required differs significantly from what was visible or described (for example hidden water damage, failing previous coatings or extra repairs), we will tell you before doing extra work and provide a written change order for your approval.
4. Booking, deposits & payment
- A deposit (normally up to 30% of the quoted price) may be required to reserve your start date and purchase materials.
- For larger projects we may invoice progress payments at agreed milestones.
- The balance is due on completion, after the final walkthrough.
- We accept e-Transfer, cheque, credit card and other methods listed on your quote. All prices are in Canadian dollars and HST is extra unless stated.
- Overdue balances may be charged interest of 2% per month (26.8% per year) after 30 days.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide safe access to the work areas, plus access to water and electricity.
- Remove valuables, fragile items, artwork, wall-mounted TVs and personal items from work areas. We move and cover furniture, but we are not responsible for items that should reasonably have been removed.
- Keep children and pets away from work areas during the project.
- Approve colours in writing (email or text is fine) before work starts. Colours on screens and small chips can look different on your walls โ we are not responsible for colour choices once approved, though we are always happy to help you choose.
- Tell us about any known issues such as moisture, mould, previous water damage, or lead-based paint or asbestos in the home.
6. Customer-supplied paint
If you supply your own paint or materials, we will apply them according to the manufacturer's instructions, but we cannot warranty the performance of customer-supplied products (coverage, durability, colour accuracy or defects). Extra coats or labour caused by low-quality or insufficient product may be billed as extra. Our workmanship warranty still applies to our labour.
7. Older homes: lead paint & asbestos
Homes built before about 1980 may contain lead-based paint, and textured ceilings or materials installed before the mid-1980s may contain asbestos. Where these may be present we may recommend testing before work begins. We will not knowingly disturb hazardous materials without appropriate testing and precautions. Testing and abatement costs are not included unless written in your quote.
8. Weather & scheduling
Exterior work depends on suitable weather (generally above 10ยฐC and dry). We may reschedule for rain, extreme heat, cold or high humidity to protect the quality of your finish. Start dates are estimates and can shift because of weather, earlier projects or material availability; we will keep you updated.
9. Clean-up & completion
We clean up daily and remove our materials on completion. Before final payment we do a walkthrough with you and fix any reasonable touch-ups you point out. Minor imperfections only visible from very close range or under unusual lighting are not considered defects.
10. Photos
We may take before-and-after photos of our work (never of you, your family or personal items) for our portfolio and social media. No address or identifying details are shared. Tell us if you prefer that we don't, and we won't.
11. Warranty, refunds & cancellations
Please see our Warranty and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which form part of these Terms.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Ontario's consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
13. Website use
Website content is for general information. We try to keep it accurate but do not guarantee it is complete or current. Do not misuse the Site, submit false information, or attempt to interfere with its operation. Logos, text and design on this Site belong to Coatform Painting.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on the Site applies from the "Last updated" date. The Terms in force when you sign a written quote apply to that project.
